Giddy Up! Henry's Cake Smash Session

If nobody was watching you eat cake for one of the first times in your life, how would you go about eating it? You know the boy from the film, "Matilda", who eats the chocolate cake on stage as punishment? That's how I always pictured my cake-loving self. I'd be okay with that as discipline for myself, only in vanilla form please (plain Jane, I know).

While reviewing Henry's cake smash photos, I could relate to his... let's call it "passion" for cake. He knew exactly what was getting placed in front of him and he was ready! Henry's mom, Marlee, showed up with the cutest little cowboy outfit and a beautiful cake. After much thought, it was decided to nix the cowboy outfit entirely and let him go at it in his “birthday suit”. Great decision because he was covered head to toe in blue, white, brown, and black icing by the end of the session! Plus, who doesn't love a nude baby? Marlee and I laughed through the entire session while Henry dug his little fingers into the beautiful cake and enjoyed a sweet meal for himself. He really put on a great show!

As I watch Marlee, a dear friend of mine, evolve as a mother and provide nothing but the best for her Henry, I am honored that she asked me to take his cake smash photos. Happy first birthday sweet, little Henry! I hope your life continues to be filled with happiness, laughter, and lots of yummy cake!
